Hi, my name is Tim Polson. My father's family emigrated from the Poznan-Budzyn area in the 1850s to Peoria, Illinois.

I am looking for information and additional places to research besides Poznan-Project, Genetika, BaSia, Archives for my ancestors. I have seen my last name spelled as Polzin, Polcyn, Pulseen. My great-grandmother told me our name was shortened when our ancestors arrived in America. I'm not sure this is correct.

It just so happens that I took care of the surname Polcyn a little. This surname appears from my wife's side. I have: Jan Polcyn * 1847, Sr. Józefa and Anna Sobek, married to Malgorzata Januchowska * 1856, Sr. Mikołaj and Jadwiga.
